It is time for a new release: flippatix 0.1alpha1 is out. In the Gnome flavour, at the moment. We are currently considering wether to discontinue or not the Xfce version.
Although it is an alpha version it should be quite usable and stable, so don't be scared by the naming scheme we chose. Everything packaged in a 348 MBytes CD-R iso, as always. Nothing to install, just boot it and use it for your audio/video streams and playbacks. Or also to browse the web, chat, rescue damaged installations.
There are a bunch of changes:
* Brand new 2.6.15.4 Linux kernel
* Darkice 0.17 (mp3, ogg and aac support, alsa native support)
* Latest Somasuite (as always) and added insusomascreen for video
* Added twolame support
* Added ffmpeg and ffmpeg2theora
* Added ezstream for theora video streaming over Icecast 2 servers
* Fixes configuration bugs for mplayer and VideoLan client
* Many other small fixes : )
As always your teting/using and reporting is more than welcome. Next step will be creation of user documentation: your help in the making of it is necessary!! Please use our community forums to keep in touch with us, ask questions, features, make comments.
You can download 0.1alpha1 from here. |
